1. Employers care more about experience and skills than the school you went to.

2. Ask for constructive feedback while, Be a good listener and take notes 

3. Don’t fight with the other interns 

4. Join organizations that fit your career goals and social interests 

5. Show initiative to develop within your role. More than half (59%) of employers hire interns who ask for more responsibility. 

6. Before you finish your internship, ask your supervisor for a letter of recommendation on company letterhead. 

7. Maintaining eye contact, an open posture and an inviting smile will impress upon employers that you are relaxed and confident during an interview.

8. Making mistakes is part of the learning curve. Apologize appropriately, take notes, and think how you can make improvements. 

9. When in doubt, ask. Always double check what you’re doing with your supervisor/staff member to avoid catastrophe.
